Woodstock celebrates National HIGH FIVE® accreditation for youth programs

Woodstock’s Parks and Recreation department is now officially HIGH FIVE accredited

The City of Woodstock is celebrating a major achievement after earning HIGH FIVE® Accreditation for its recreation, camp, and sports programs serving children ages 4 to 12.

HIGH FIVE®, created by Parks and Recreation Ontario, is Canada’s leading quality standard for children’s recreation. Accredited organizations are measured on staff training, program design, safety procedures, and ongoing evaluations to ensure strong child development and safe, supportive environments.

Danielle Ciccarelli, Manager of Cowan Park Sportsplex, said the honour reflects years of dedicated work. “Accreditation has been a priority goal of the department for three years, and we have been able to achieve this through our hiring policies, training, camp and recreation programs, creating safe environments and so much more.”

She added that every season, staff aim to deliver high-quality camps, drop-ins, aquatics, sports, and leadership programs that help children build lifelong skills and memories.

To mark the achievement, Cowan Park Sportsplex will host a free HIGH FIVE® Accreditation Celebration on Friday, Nov. 28 from 2 to 5 p.m., featuring crafts, turf games, adult pickleball, and cookie decorating.
