Charges are coming for a Woodstock man after a major drug seizure
Border officers seized more than 260 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine at the Blue Water Bridge earlier this month, according to the Canada Border Services Agency.
The CBSA says a commercial truck entering Canada from the United States on February 4th, was referred for a secondary inspection at the Point Edward crossing. During a search of the trailer, officers — assisted by a detector dog — located 16 duffle bags containing a total of 266.4 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine.
Kulbir Singh, 29, of Woodstock, was arrested and the drugs were turned over to the RCMP.
The RCMP has charged Singh with importation of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The case is before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia. The allegations have not been tested in court.
